How the VS Frontier Index is constructed
The VS Frontier Index tracks a curated universe of AI infrastructure companies spanning model labs, compute providers, data platforms, and tooling. Constituents are selected based on funding velocity, practitioner adoption, and IPO proximity — not market cap.
Companies must be active in AI infrastructure — training, inference, data, or tooling — with $100M+ in total funding and meaningful practitioner adoption signal.
Equal-weight rebalanced quarterly. No single constituent exceeds 12% of index weight. Newly added companies enter at their sector's average weight.
The index rebalances at the start of each quarter. Companies graduating to a major exchange remain for 90 days post-IPO before classification review.
